Road Transport Hall of Fame Inductee

Hazell Bros Group founder Donald Hazell has been inducted into the Shell Rimula National Road Transport Hall of Fame, based in Alice Springs.
The Road Transport Historical Society is a volunteer based project dedicated to the preservation and presentation of Australia's unique road transport heritage.
In 1944, Donald Hazell bought his first truck aged 16. In 1945 he and brother Rowley formed Hazell Bros. The business has grown to be one of Tasmania's great success stories.
Today, the Hazell Bros Group employs more than 400 people Statewide, in the in the industries of civil construction, building construction, transport, equipment services, concrete and quarry industries, product testing and fleet maintenance.
"It gives me great pleasure to see the growth of Hazell Bros and to see all our staff working together - because without our staff, there is no Hazell Bros," Mr Hazell said.
Donald's extensive community contribution includes nearly two decades on the Kingborough Council (six of which he served as Mayor), providing support for the Lady Nelson sail training ship, providing employment for many people throughout Tasmania, and aiming to build strong communities.
