Quarry
Hazell Bros has two quarries, the largest in the South of Tasmania at Leslie Vale and a second quarry at Long Hill, in Tasmania’s North-West. Hazell Bros’ Leslie Vale Quarry produces more than 700,000t a year to the southern market. Our newly opened Long Hill Quarry brings high-quality hard rock dolerite products to the northern market. We have a proven record of excellence in the construction industry for our high-quality aggregate and workability in road base materials.
In addition to our fixed plants we operate a modern fleet of track-mounted mobile crushing and screening plants, which comprises primary, secondary and tertiary units, screens and pugmills. Our plant can be configured to suit many applications with crushing and screening units having a production capacity of up to 250 tonnes an hour. We carry out high-capacity production of a broad range of products, including:
- dolerite source rock being compliant to DIER G6 specifications
- meeting DIER R40 specifications and forestry road applications
- materials produced to AS 2758.1 and various client specifications.
Specifications are controlled through our NATA-accredited laboratory Qual Tech, which undertakes a range of quality assurance testing. Qual Tech can also undertake new product development.
