Training and Development
Hazell Bros maintains a strong commitment to the training and professional development of every employee. Currently one third of its 600-strong workforce is undergoing a nationally accredited training program.
Hazell Bros has been awarded the second largest amount of productivity places (government funding nationally) to provide fully customised, accredited training to 230 employees. Qualifications include (but are not limited to) administration, civil and building construction, transport, procurement, occupational health and safety, information technology and management from Certificate III to Advanced Diploma level.
We have negotiated with registered training organisations to develop fully customised training programs tailored to our business and the industry sector. Training is also tailored around the needs of the individual, including accommodating training for our employees based at remote locations, or after hours where required.
Hazell Bros has a well-established trainee and apprentice program with a dedicated apprentice coordinator for our 50 trainees and apprentices. We have an annual apprentice and trainee of the year award.
We have recently implemented a Future Leaders program that provides a structured rotational placement and professional development program for aspiring leaders in our organisation.
Employees at Hazell Bros are also encouraged to grow and undertake professional development opportunities at a tertiary level, funded by Hazell Bros. We support employees wishing to undertake further university studies in their chosen field and we have a graduate development program for young professionals.
